Hotel Mona

A new 5-star hotel is proposed for Mona, Hobart. The new building will also feature a restaurant and bar, library, theatre, spa centre, outdoor concert stage and function space.

I worked closely with Art Processors to uncover future opportunities for the hotel and guests that align with the Mona experience and philosophies. A guest-centric framework was created to interrogate the current gallery experience and inform future designs. Workshops and trend analysis identified ways to best encourage guests to adjust the parameters and length of their stay, as well as their expectations, abilities and appetite for serendipity and discovery of the unexpected.

This work will underpin concept development for the hotel.

Our specific scope included:
- Guest experience framework
- Guest journey mapping
- Trend analysis
- Behavioural analysis
- Guest modes and mindsets
- Co-design and co-creation
- Rapid ideation
- Workshop facilitation

Unlike Mona, the hotel will shout instead of whisper. Mona was never meant
to be monumental — but the hotel is different.
