The Jewish Holocaust Centre in Melbourne, dedicated to Holocaust education, has undergone a remarkable transformation. Rebuilt at its original site, it has evolved into the larger and more expansive Melbourne Holocaust Museum. This upgrade has allowed the Museum to extend its offerings beyond its initial educational programs tailored for schools. It now opens its doors to the general public and includes specialised development and training programs aimed at professionals, politicians, law enforcement and military personnel.
I worked closely with Leigh Whittaker and the dedicated team at MHM to co-create an Experience Framework and Blueprint that enhances the visitor experience. Our work supports a cohesive and impactful journey for every visitor, ensuring that the Museum's expanded facilities and programs provide an immersive and educational experience.
Specific scope included:
- Stakeholder engagement, guided conversations and sessions.
- Framework provides a structure for the experience before, during and after a visit.
- Experience Blueprint that maps a set of visitor journeys showing the people, places and props that support the moments that matter.
- Planning and facilitation of co-design workshops with exhibition curators, historians, educators, volunteers, donors, community members and guides.
